A bricklayer has lost his life after a residential building collapsed at Oba-Ile Estate in Akure, Ondo State, on Tuesday.
The collapse, which reportedly involved a dilapidated structure, sent shockwaves through the community as the victim was trapped under the debris.
Eyewitnesses said residents and passersby rushed to the scene to offer support and express condolences to the family of the deceased.
Police operatives, it was learnt arrived, securing the area and removing the victim’s body, which was taken to a nearby mortuary.
Preliminary investigations have been reportedly launched by the Police to determine the cause of the building’s collapse.
