The Adamawa State Police Command has arraigned two men before a magistrate court in Yola over their alleged role in a deadly communal clash that left three women dead in Lamurde Local Government Area.

A statement issued yesterday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that the suspects identified as Joshua William and Ezekiel Luka were brought before Chief Magistrate Court I on a five-count charge borders on terrorism and related offences.

The police said the men were apprehended following last month’s violence around Tigno village, where the victims were reportedly attacked and killed while working on their farm.

Nguroje said the court ordered their remand at a correctional facility pending completion of police investigations and the next stage of prosecution.

Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, assured residents that efforts to track down other suspects linked to the killings are ongoing.

He appealed for calm and urged communities involved in the dispute to remain peaceful as the law takes its course.
