Suspected fighters loyal to notorious bandit kingpin Bello Turji have raided Gajit community in the Lajinge axis of Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, abducting about 20 residents.
Security analyst Bakatsine disclosed the attack in a post on X on Wednesday, noting that the armed group stormed the village late on Tuesday.
He said the bandits shot sporadically, leaving two residents injured before whisking away their victims, made up of men and women.
“Last night, bandits loyal to Bello Turji attacked the Gajit community in Lajinge District, Sabon Birni. The raid resulted in injuries to two people, and at least 20 residents were taken,” his post read.
As of Wednesday evening, neither the police nor state authorities had issued an official reaction to the incident.
