‎In a celebration of cultural heritage and community unity, the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) Yola Diocese Cultural Dance Committee is set to host a captivating “Cultural Dance” event under the distinguished chairmanship of Dr. Salihu Bakari Girei PhD, the renowned Director of Research and Development/Centres of Excellence at the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in Abuja.

This special invitation, extended with great honor, underscores Dr. Girei’s towering stature as a trailblazing educator, political influencer, and champion of innovation in Nigeria’s higher education landscape.

‎Affectionately known as “Wakili Makaranta Adamawa” (Ambassador of Education in Adamawa), Dr. Girei has emerged as a pivotal figure in advancing tertiary education across the nation.

As TETFund’s key director, he spearheads initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and innovation in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

His leadership has driven critical support for research, development, and centers of excellence, positioning Nigeria’s academic institutions on a global stage.

Beyond his professional accolades, Dr. Girei is a prolific scholar with contributions spanning various fields, as evidenced by his Google Scholar profile, and he frequently graces public lectures—such as the recent one at the University of Jos—where he shares insights on education and entrepreneurship.

‎In the political arena, Dr. Girei is hailed as Adamawa’s “central star,” with a growing movement touting him as a transformative leader for the state’s future.

Supporters praise his grassroots engagements, like recent tours in Girei, where he promised an “unforgettable” legacy of progress and unity. This blend of academic prowess, political acumen, and cultural advocacy makes Dr. Girei the perfect chair for an event that bridges tradition and modernity.

‎The Cultural Dance, themed around preserving and showcasing the rich ethnic tapestry of the region, is scheduled for today, Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM at St. Monica LCCN Cathedral Nassarawo (Mission Quarters).

‎The event features an illustrious lineup:

‎Chairlady: Mrs. Yabo Gapsiso, Customary Court of Appeal Yola.

‎Special Guest of Honour: Hon. Emmanuel Kefas, Member Song State Constituency, Adamawa State.

‎Father of the Day: Hon. William Bwade.

‎Mother of the Day: Mrs. Parmata E. Ishaya.

‎Guest Speaker: Chief Joab H. Samah, Commissioner Land and Survey, Adamawa State.

‎Chief Host: Rt. Rev. Theophilus S. Shadrach (Bishop, LCCN Yola Diocese).

‎Organizers have extended a warm, special invitation: “This is your special Invitation Your Excellency. We look forward to meeting with you on Saturday God willing.” Attendees can expect rhythmic performances, traditional drums, and a vibrant display of cultural dances that foster harmony among diverse communities.

‎Dr. Girei’s involvement elevates the occasion, symbolizing a commitment to cultural preservation amid his broader mission to uplift Adamawa and Nigeria. As one source aptly described him, “Dr. Salihu Girei Bakari isn’t just a political giant—he’s Adamawa’s north star, and his star’s only climbing higher.”

This event promises to be a memorable fusion of tradition, leadership, and inspiration, drawing dignitaries, community leaders, and culture enthusiasts alike.
