The Peoples Democratic Party in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State suffered a major setback on Thursday as Hon. Moses Olusola Enuebuke, popularly known as Oba Bombay, defected to the All Progressives Congress.
Oba Bombay was formally received into the APC at a gathering attended by top party leaders from the state and local government levels.
The Ondo State APC Chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin, led the reception, with Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, also known as Amaechi, present at the event.
Also in attendance were the Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson, the APC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Eleti, and other party leaders.
A former three-time commissioner in Ondo State, Hon. Saka Ogunleye Yusuf, also graced the occasion alongside a large number of party faithful.
While welcoming the new entrant, Adetimehin said the APC was pleased to have Oba Bombay join its fold, describing him as a resourceful politician with strong grassroots support.
He noted that the defection, along with the influx of Oba Bombay’s supporters, would further strengthen the APC’s structure in Akure North and across the state.
