Nigerian social media personality, Abike Raheem, popularly known as Papaya Ex, has accused a police officer of physically assaulting her during a late-night encounter in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

The influencer made the allegation during an emotional live session on TikTok on Friday, claiming the incired while she was returning home from a movie shoot.

According to her, what initially appeared to be a cordial interaction with the officer after her vehicle was stopped later escalated into a confrontation.

She alleged that the officer struck her in the face with a gun and also assaulted her driver.

Papaya Ex further claimed that the officer behaved inappropriately during the altercation dent occurand forcefully seized her mobile phone.

She also alleged that she was slapped during the encounter.

Although the alleged incident was not captured on video, the influencer attributed the absence of footage to network disruption during the live session.

She, however, displayed what appeared to be a facial injury while narrating her experience.

In one of the videos circulating online, a voice believed to be that of a police officer was heard during a heated exchange as both parties argued.

The circumstances surrounding the incident could not be independently verified as of the time of filing this report.

Visibly distressed in the viral clips, Papaya Ex alleged that residents of the Ajah area frequently experience harassment by security operatives, describing the situation as recurring.

The videos have since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many users calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.

As of press time, the Lagos State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the allegations.
