Suspected criminals have reportedly burgled a mobile phone charging centre in Jada Local Government Area, escaping with more than 40 phones kept by customers.
The incident occurred at a shop operated by Muhammad Mai Caji along the Unguwar Duta’era axis while the owner had temporarily closed business to attend the Isha prayer at a mosque nearby.
Community sources said the stolen devices were handed over by customers for charging, leaving many residents counting losses alongside the shop operator.
The burglars were also alleged to have carted away cash realised from the shop’s Point of Sale services during the break-in.
The owner confirmed that the matter had been officially reported to the police and noted that arrangements were being made to reach out to customers affected by the theft.
Following the incident, residents appealed to security agencies to strengthen surveillance and night patrol operations, citing growing concerns over burglary activities in the area.
