Dr. Mo, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate in the recently concluded Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) election, has paid a condolence visit to the family of Musa Abubakar, an ADC party agent who died during the election at the Gwagwa polling unit.
Speaking at a press briefing after the polls, Dr. Mo said Abubakar lost his life while attempting to safeguard the votes at his polling unit.
“There were reports of vote manipulation at some polling units, and tragically, this led to the death of Musa Abubakar as he tried to defend the integrity of the election at Gwagwa,” he stated.
Dr. Mo urged electoral authorities to thoroughly investigate the incident to ensure justice and maintain public confidence in the democratic process.
“Such incidents undermine the fairness of elections and erode trust in our democracy,” he added.
The election, according to reports, saw the All Progressives Congress (APC) clinch five of the six area council chairmanship seats in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
