The Secretary of the Local Council Development Area in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Joseph Kayode Aladesuyi, who was abducted by gunmen a few days ago, has regained his freedom after an undisclosed ransom was reportedly paid.
Aladesuyi was kidnapped at his farm in Ilu-Abo, located in Akure North Local Government Area near the Akure Airport.
Sources close to the family confirmed on Friday that the politician had been released by his captors after spending several days in captivity.
The Irun-Akoko-born politician, who is also an agro-investor and the Chief Executive Officer of JOTINA Farms, was reportedly seized by the assailants while attending to activities on his farm.
A family source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, confirmed that Aladesuyi had safely returned but declined to disclose the details surrounding the ransom payment.
