The African Democratic Congress has announced the schedule for its 2026 nationwide congresses ahead of the party’s National Convention.
The timetable was disclosed in a public notice jointly signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.
According to the statement, the exercise will commence with polling unit and ward congresses on April 7, 2026, while Local Government Area congresses are scheduled for April 9.
The party stated that state congresses would follow on April 11, while the process would culminate in the National Convention fixed for April 14, 2026.
The ADC explained that the exercise was in line with its constitutional mandate to review and renew its leadership structures across all levels of the party.
“The African Democratic Congress hereby announces the official timetable for the conduct of its 2026 nationwide congresses and National Convention,” the statement read.
It added that the process would begin from the polling units and wards, progress through the local government and state levels, and end with the National Convention.
The party also urged members interested in contesting vacant positions during the congresses to obtain and submit the necessary nomination or expression of interest forms through its official platform.
It noted that the forms, as well as other relevant information, were available on the party’s official website.
The ADC further encouraged members across the country to participate actively in the exercise and adhere to the party’s constitution, guidelines and democratic principles throughout the process.
