A mother from Akure, Ondo State, Sandra Osatuyi, has appealed for urgent help after losing two of her daughters under mysterious circumstances in Ibadan, Oyo State, while her third child remains unaccounted for.
Osatuyi told reporters that despite a police directive ordering her ex-husband to release her surviving daughter, Precious-Praise Olofintayo, 18, she has yet to see her.
The mother called on law enforcement and the public to assist in locating the teenager.
Investigations indicate that the three girls had been living with their father, Olofintayo Moses Akinpelumi Adekunle, a Nigeria Immigration Service officer, following his separation from Osatuyi in 2000. Adekunle reportedly relocated to Ibadan with the children, remarried, and left the girls in the care of their stepmother.
Tragedy reportedly struck last Wednesday when two of the daughters, Prosper Olofintayo, 14, and Elizabeth Olofintayo, 12, along with their stepmother, died under suspicious circumstances in their Eleta home. Neighbours speculated that poisoning may have been involved.
The deceased were buried in Ibadan, but Osatuyi raised alarm over the disappearance of her eldest daughter, saying she has not been handed over despite police instructions. She called on relevant authorities and organisations to intervene promptly
