The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with a kidnapping incident captured on CCTV in Oda, Akure, and rescued three victims.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, noting that the arrests followed the circulation of a video showing the abduction.

He said the command swiftly mobilised its intelligence unit, deploying digital tracking and coordinated operations to identify those involved.

“Upon receiving the footage, the Command immediately activated its intelligence team, leveraging digital surveillance analysis and coordinated field operations to identify and apprehend the suspects,” the statement read.

According to him, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad first arrested one suspect, whose confession led to the arrest of two other accomplices.

The suspects were identified as Mohammed Koro, 27; Muhammad Usman, 30; and Musa Alhaji, 23, while the rescued victims have been taken to hospital for treatment.

“The Commissioner of Police reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to combating crime and criminality, emphasizing that Ondo State will not serve as a safe haven for criminals.”
