Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde sparked online chatter after appearing to rebuff a young presenter during the 46th Miss Nigeria Patrons & Board Dinner on Sunday.
The event, which also celebrated the Daily Times Young Fashion Designer of the Year Award, became the subject of social media buzz following the brief exchange caught on video.
In the clip, the visibly nervous presenter approached Omotola during a live segment and asked her to introduce herself, saying, “Alright, welcome to 2026 Miss Nigeria dinner. I am currently live with…?”
The question appeared to take the actress by surprise. She paused, raising her eyebrows, and replied, “You are here with who? I should tell you my name? You are not ready.”
The presenter tried to clarify that he knew her identity and only sought to formally introduce her to viewers. “I know you, Omotola Jalade, I just want fans to know who I am with,” he explained.
Omotola, however, dismissed the explanation, stating, “Why should I let fans know me? I am tired,” before attempting to move away.
The presenter reportedly continued to engage her briefly, but the interaction remained tense.
The video has since gone viral, drawing mixed reactions from fans, with many praising the actress for her candid response while others criticized the presenter’s approach.
