Residents of Jeri community in Kusada Local Government Area of Katsina State have been thrown into fear and anxiety following a brazen house-to-house raid by suspected bandits.

A security analyst, Bakatsine, disclosed the incident on X on Friday, describing how the attackers operated uninterrupted for nearly two hours, moving from one residence to another.

“Bandits carried out a systematic house-to-house raid in Jeri community, Kusada LGA, operating for close to two hours,” he said.

During the attack, the assailants reportedly stole mobile phones, cash, and livestock, with losses estimated to be worth millions of naira. “Phones, cash, and cattle belonging to residents were carted away,” Bakatsine added.

Although no fatalities or kidnappings were reported, the raid has reignited concerns about security in the state, coming shortly after a peace agreement was reportedly reached with bandits in Kankia Local Government Area.

Bakatsine emphasized that the latest incident raises questions about the effectiveness of the peace deal, warning that communities remain vulnerable despite recent efforts to restore stability in Katsina State.
