Leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State have reiterated their commitment to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The resolution followed a stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure on Saturday under the leadership of Prince Tony Ala, where party members reviewed developments within the APC and discussed unity strategies.
In a communiqué released after the meeting, the leaders expressed firm support for both the President and the governor, commending their leadership styles and policy directions.
“We restate our unshaken loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, whose governance continues to inspire confidence and progress,” the communiqué read.
The stakeholders also acknowledged federal interventions in Akure, highlighting ongoing road projects and institutional developments attributed to the President’s administration.
They said, “We will intensify grassroots mobilisation across communities to secure overwhelming support for President Tinubu in the 2027 general election.”
The group further praised Aiyedatiwa for sustaining peace and driving development in the state, particularly noting his inclusion of Akure indigenes in government appointments.
They described the recent APC congresses in Ondo as orderly and inclusive, attributing the outcome to the governor’s commitment to unity and internal democracy.
The meeting also produced a vote of confidence in Aiyedatiwa, with participants pledging their continued backing for his leadership.
On future elections, the stakeholders endorsed Hon. Oluwafemi Fadairo for the Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency and Hon. Adeola Rosemary Fynch for the Akure South Constituency I seat.
They, however, rejected any attempt to impose candidates, insisting that only popular and capable aspirants should emerge, while warning party members against actions that could undermine unity.
