A business dispute has taken a tragic turn in Ogun State, leaving two persons dead and three others critically injured after a violent knife attack in the Olámbe area.

The police have since arrested a 25-year-old suspect, Abubakar Musa, in connection with the incident.

Confirming the development on Wednesday, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the attack stemmed from a disagreement linked to a failed business transaction.

According to the police, the suspect allegedly went on a stabbing spree after becoming agitated during an altercation, attacking individuals who reportedly attempted to pacify him.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, when the suspect allegedly stabbed five persons during the outburst.

Two of the victims, identified as Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40, were said to have died on the way to the hospital, where medical personnel later confirmed them dead.

Three others—Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25—sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a medical facility, with authorities describing their condition as critical but stable.

Police authorities disclosed that the suspect fled the scene shortly after the attack but was subsequently tracked and apprehended by operatives.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the killings, assuring residents that justice would be pursued diligently.

He also called on members of the public to remain alert and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
