The Ondo State Police Command on Thursday said it foiled an attempted kidnapping and rescued two victims in Ose Local Government Area of the state.
The incident, according to the command, occurred around 5:45 p.m. along the Idogun–Imeri axis when suspected kidnappers struck at a social gathering.
Operatives were said to have acted swiftly following a distress call, mobilising to the scene and confronting the assailants.
The police said the prompt response disrupted the operation, forcing the suspects to abandon their plan.
Two victims were rescued during the operation and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, reaffirmed the command’s resolve to tackle violent crimes and bring perpetrators to justice.
“We remain committed to combating violent crime and will relentlessly track down all suspects involved in this incident,” he said.
Lawal also commended the operatives for their prompt response and disclosed that intensified combing operations had begun in the area.
He urged residents to remain calm and vigilant, while appealing for continued support through credible information to aid ongoing security operations.
