Five suspected traffic robbers nabbed in Lagos

Five suspects have been arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly dispossessing unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables at the Ketu end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement on Tuesday that the suspects took advantage of the gridlock on the expressway to perpetrate the crime, adding that policemen attached to the Ketu Division arrested them.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, charged policemen in the command to be prepared to provide adequate security for all and sundry despite the ongoing protests across the state.

Adejobi said, “The Lagos State Police Command has set machinery in motion to go after traffic robbers, who harass and rob innocent Lagosians in traffic within the state.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, dropped the hint on Tuesday while addressing some officers at the command headquarters, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, in preparation for police operational activities during the ember months.
