Speaking on the recent hiring and destruction of the State secretariat of the PDP and APC, ZADOK AKINTOYE released a press briefing stating the fact that the actions has to be denounced that it emanated from the PDP.
I have just placed a call to my brother Mr. Alex Kalejaye of the APC and our state Chairman, Hon. Fatai Adams and advised that the APC and the PDP should as a matter of immediate and urgent public service, issue a joint press statement denouncing the malicious and callous attacks on the secretariats of the two parties.
For the records, I was informed that some miscreants had earlier attempted to burn the home of the APC Chairman Engr. Ade Adetimehin while chanting “power, power” assumedly masquerading as PDP members. These criminals upon being resisted by security agents then proceeded to the APC Secretariat to raze it. This action is condemnable by all well meaning citizens and does not reflect the intentions of the promoters of the #endsars protest.
It is important that both State Chapter Chairmen immediately take responsibility for dousing the pending inferno by issuing a press statement in collaboration with the State Government. We cannot allow violence in our state and must jointly take responsibility.
We must also be conscious of the possible attempt by external forces to set the South West region on fire by instigating inter-citizen conflict using the just concluded gubernatorial elections as a catalyst for inviting violence.
I appeal to all citizens to refrain from taking any reprisal action on behalf of any political party.
