Farmers in Faskari, Dandume and Safana Local Government Areas of
Katsina State have showered praises on Nigerian Army troops of Operation Sahel Sanity for providing farm security patrols for them. The local farmers also expressed their appreciation to the Army troops for making it possible for them to begin the harvest of their farm produces which include millet, soya beans and rice.

Katsina State Government has also
confirmed the return of normalcy to the affected local government areas of the state. The state government averred that farmers and other residents have since been going about their normal daily activities due to efforts of Nigerian Army troops and other security agencies.

While appreciating the troops, the local farmers reiterated that the ongoing military operation in the North West region that is codenamed Operation Sahel Sanity
has been achieving the desired result due to the number of bandits that have already been dislodged from their hideouts. The farmers added that the military operation has also denied the criminal elements the freedom of action thereby encouraging the people to go back to their normal lives.

Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that troops of
Operation Sahel Sanity have upped their game by moving a step beyond taking the insurgency war to the camp of bandits with the support of Nigerian Air Force. It was also emphasized that soldiers also patrol deep into the forest
on motorcycles to secure the farmers during the planting season and current period of harvest.

It was however assured that the recent killing of five soldiers during the quest to secure the release of a kidnapped nursing mother and little children would not deter the troops from continually embarking on day and night patrols.
