Honorable Adefisoye Sponsors Unity Cup In Idanre/Ifedore Constituency

 

Federal lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has bankrolled a football tournament tagged “Idanre Ifedore Unity Cup Competition”.

The competition began on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Government Technical College, Idanre with 16 teams from the two local government areas that make up the federal constituency.

As part of his effort to encourage the participating teams, Adefisoye donated complete match jerseys and soccer booths to each of the 16 teams, while adequate provisions were also made for other logistics. It was also announced before the tournament was declared open that the federal lawmaker has made provision of substantial price monies for the winner, first and second runner -up teams in the competition.

In the first matche played on Friday,
Valiant FC of Ijare played 2-2 draw with Ajax FC of Alade, Idanre; while Omo Eleye FC of Igbaraoke were defeated 3-0 by Idanre United FC in the second match. Also, 360 FC of Ipogun walloped Giant Stars of Igbaraoke by 4 goals to 1 in the last match of the day.

Speaking on importance of the competition, Olomola kolawole, who is popularly known as Aroma applauded Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye for taking advantage of the football competition to foster unity amongst the youths in Idanre and Ifedore. He further praised Adefisoye for providing an avenue that has engaged the youth and keep them away from getting involved in criminal activities, especially during the yuletude season.

“We are most appreciative of Hon. Adefisoye for deeming it necessary to sponsor this competition. He has taken advantage of this competition to foster unity among we youths in Idanre and Ifedore. It even more appreciative that Small Alhaji is also using this competition to keep the youth away from getting involved crimes, especially during this festive period. He is a representative that obviously cares about the development and wellbeing of his constituents”, added Aroma.
