Cross over service: CAN directs Ondo churches to close by 10pm

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has made a u-turn on its earlier directive to churches in Ondo State to ignore the state government directive on the ban on New Year’s cross over service.

It pleaded with all churches in the state to abide by the directives of the Federal and State Government that all services should close by 10 pm or even earlier so that people could get to their different homes early enough.

State Chairman of Ondo CAN, Rev. John Ayo Oladapo in a press statement said the recent plea was based on the present circumstances and all issues surrounding the cross-over service.

According to the statement, “Those who can totally put the service on hold can as well do that and meet on January 1, for new year service.

“We also encourage you all to respect the Covid-19 protocols as you worship in all your services.

“May the good Lord keep each and every one of us as we celebrate the goodness of God in the new year.”
