The General body of Ondo State Government Doctors , have begun an indefinite strike over unpaid salaries.
The Doctors comprise Ondo State Association of Residents Doctors of University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTHC)), Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria, Ondo State Government Hospitals Chapter, and the National Association of Government General Medical Dental Practitioners in Ondo State (NAGMDP), representing the body of Doctors working with Ondo State Government.
Addressing Journalists in Akure, spokesperson, for Ondo State Government Doctors Forum, Dr Omolayo Olubosede, said they began the strike to press home their grievances which include payment of salary arrears.
They called on Ondo State Government to pay their backlog of salaries, employ more doctors and payment of COVID-19 allowances.
