The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Army, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has expressed his rude shock over the plane crash that claimed the lives of Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and other brilliant senior Army officers on Friday, May 21, 2021 in Kaduna.

Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye expressed his shock and sadness in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Oluyemi Fasipe on Saturday, May 22, 2021.

The federal lawmaker described the sudden death of Lieutenant General Attahiru in particular as a monumental loss to Nigerian Armed Forces. He also described the death as a major setback in the nation’s quest to end insurgency, banditry and other violent crimes in the country.

“Adefisoye further describes the plane crash that claimed the lives of the 21st COAS and other senior Army officers as a huge personal loss to him and other patriotic Nigerians that desire peace and enthronement of security in all parts of the country.
He also describes the COAS as a thorough bred professional who was patriotically and devotedly committed to finding a lasting solution to insecurity challenges in the country”.

Meanwhile, Adefisoye has also prayed for the repose of the souls of the late COAS, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru as well as that of other senior Army officers and crew members that crashed with him.

“The federal lawmaker however, prays that Almighty Allah shall grant the departed souls of Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and that of other senior Army officers and the crew members Aljanah fridaus. He also prays that Allah shall grant families of the departed the fortitude to bear this untimely, shocking and irreplaceable loss”, Adefisoye prayed.
