Troops Inflict Heavy Casualties on Boko Haram in Rann, Borno State

 

Nigerian Army troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed not less than ten Boko Haram terrorists that attempted to launch an audacious attack on the troops located at Rann, the headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday, May 28, 2021.

The futile attack was launched barely few hours after the Chief of Army Staff, General Faruk Yahaya took command at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

According to a press release made available by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima on May 29, 2021, the terrorists who came in their numbers mounted on gun trucks and attempted to infiltrate the main entrance to the town.

However, the highly spirited troops were right on hand to counter the move and inflicted humiliating defeat on the terrorists who were forced to abandoned their evil mission and took to their heels.

Meanwhile, the troops later chased the retreating terrorist and ensured there was no further threat to the peace of the town and her residents.

Moreso, the troops successfully destroyed one of the gun trucks and recovered multiple weapons that include one anti aircraft gun, two machine guns and  eight AK-47 rifles.
