ASUU strike: ‘You run a system you don’t trust — Ahmed Musa slams politicians whose kids school abroad

Ahmed Musa, the Super Eagles captain, has taken a swipe at Nigerian politicians whose children school abroad.

In a post on his Instagram page on Tuesday, the footballer wondered how the politicians feel when they travel abroad to visit their children’s schools while “ASUU is on strike”.

“To our political office holders whose children school abroad. How do you feel visiting your children abroad taking pictures in their schools and posting online while ASUU is on strike?” he wrote.

“Like seriously, how is it ok to you? You’re running a system that you don’t even believe in. Show me one Oyibo leader whose child is schooling in Nigeria.

“E no dey touch una? And when you return, Nigerian youths will still gather and sing praises for una.”

Musa’s post comes a few hours after Seyi Makinde and Okezie Ikpeazu, two Nigerian governors, attended the convocation ceremony of Nyesom Wike’s son in London.

ASUU had on February 14 declared a one-month warning strike to protest the non-implementation of its demands by the federal government.

But on March 14, the union extended the industrial action by eight weeks, citing the government’s failure to fully address its demands.

The union also extended the strike by another 12 weeks on in May.
