The Nigerian Army has showered encomium on His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for his resilience and political will in maitaining peace and tranquility in Imo.
The commendation was made by the Commander, 34 Artillery Brigade, Bridger General S. Suleman during the flag-off of a military exercise: Golden Dawn II 2022 for the safety of Ndi Imo and all business activities during the festive seasons and electioneering season.
The Commander disclosed that the troops will be conducting covert and overt operations to dislodge and dominate all identified criminal strongholds in the State to create a peaceful environment for law abiding citizens to move freely and celebrate the yuletide period.
Governor Uzodimma in his remarks disclosed that insecurity is not limited in Imo State but a national issue which informed the *initiation* of the Exercise Golden Dawn.
The Governor stated that the exercise will restore the confidence of Ndi Imo especially those returning for the festive season.
He used the occasion to urge the citizens to *co-operate* with the security agencies for their safety and welfare.
The Governor warned criminal elements in the State to shun crime or face the consequences.
Using the Nigerian Army as a compass, the Governor commended the security agencies for their selfless services and efforts including those that paid the ultimate price.
