In a tragic turn of events, a distressing incident unfolded in Edo State, Nigeria, as yet to be identified NIgerian Police Officers run over a citizen with their car. The incident has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about the conduct and accountability of law enforcement officers.
According to some witnesses, the police officers from Ekpoma division accosted him to check his phone, which he said no to, as this is unlawful. Then, they seized his phone, handcuffed him, and proceeded to take him to their station. Other passersby intervened and the police officers made to leave the scene without uncuffing him. In the middle of the back and forth, he laid on the ground and the police officer ran over him with the vehicle. After this, the police officers came down from the vehicle and ran away.
