You’ve Failed Your People, Akure Group Lambasts Derin Adesida
A member of the House of Representatives (Akure South/Akure North federal constituency), Hon. Derin Adesida, has been described as a failure having achieved nothing since his election into the National Assembly.
An Akure socio-cultural group, Oyemekun Development Union, said nothing has been heard of the lawmaker since his return to the House of Representatives last year.
The group was reacting to the story of Hon. Adesida leading some of his colleagues to criticise the Governor of Ondo State because of the coming governorship election in the State.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Chief Dayo Akinola, said it is unfortunate that the first thing that Adesida will attach his name to since his election is to lead a group of self-serving individuals who do not mean well for the State.
He said: “Since his election into the House of Representatives, Oga Derin has not been seen anywhere, either in Abuja or Akure. He has not made any contributions on the floor of the House and has not attended any event either in Abuja or Akure.
“We don’t even know if he has aides that can be contacted to reach him. Only for us to see him in pictures leading a group of five dissident lawmakers criticising Governor Aiyedatiwa.
“Since Aiyedatiwa became governor, most of his projects have been concentrated in Akure and yet the man representing us is there shouting and ridiculing himself among those young enough to be his children.
“Where are the palliatives given to Akure people through him by the President? What has he done for Akure? How can that unfortunate statement be your first assignment in almost a year of being elected?
“He is the oldest among them by a long shot and he allowed himself to be pushed around by first termers. For what? What does he or his constituency stands to gain from that senseless endeavour?”
Chief Akinola therefore cautioned the lawmaker to desist from his acts of disrespect to the Governor or face a recall from the National Assembly.
