Mammoth crowd of local government chairmen, ward excos, unit chairmen, leaders and party faithful of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged on the Oba Olagbegi Olateru Civic Centre in Owo, on Monday to publicly endorse Lucky Aiyedatiwa as governor of Ondo state in the 2024 election.

Moving a motion for endorsement, the Owo local government APC chairman, Hon. Samuel Balogun, said the governor is the right candidate to take Ondo state to the next level. Balogun was seconded by his Ose counterpart, Hon Ladi Tenabe after which the crowd unanimously endorsed the governor in a voice vote.

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami, said there are many reasons why the governor is the right choice for the people of the state and must be given the chance to continue the good work he has started.

According to him, “Governor Aiyedatiwa has excellent ideas on how the state will be transformed and he is really working on it. We must all look for our APC membership cards and bring them out when they matter. We are lucky in Ondo state that God has brought Aiyedatiwa at this point in time to pilot the affairs of the sunshine state”

Chief Olugbenga Ale, former Chief of Staff to late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, said Owo has every reason to support and endorse Lucky Aiyedataiwa for governor of ondo state for being loyal to his late boss while he was on medical leave and the tremendous support he gave during the funeral, asking Ondo state people to give him their full support to enable him continue the work he has started.

Yemi Mahmud, Ondo state former commissioner for women affairs, took the stage to publicly declare that women in Owo and Ose local government areas will throw their weight behind Governor Aiyedatiwa.
