The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ondo State has mobilized 800 personnel across the state to safeguard critical national assets during the Eid-el-Fitr festivities.

Ibiloye Oluyemi, the state commandant of NSCDC, revealed this deployment in a press release issued by Daniel Aidamenbor, the command’s spokesperson, on Tuesday.

Oluyemi emphasized the implementation of proactive measures outlined in an operational directive to all formations, aimed at ensuring comprehensive security and averting any untoward incidents during the celebration.

He also appealed to residents for their cooperation in ensuring the safety of lives and properties, urging them to promptly report any suspicious activities or gatherings to the NSCDC through its communication channels.

“The deployment of operatives is aimed at discouraging potential criminal activities and to provide security coverage for residents of the state with watertight security in all the praying grounds in the 18 local governments of the state.

“The tactical patrol teams from the operations department, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) and armed squad unit would ensure adequate patrol of the State before, during and after the festive period,” Oluyemi said.

The commandant extended congratulations to the Muslim faithful for successfully completing the Ramadan fast and urged them to embrace the essence of the season by demonstrating love and applying the teachings acquired during the sacred month.
