Ondo 2024: Aiyedatiwa, 15 other aspirants for screening today

Today, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will begin the screening process for 16 aspirants vying for the party’s ticket in the upcoming Ondo State governorship primary, scheduled for April 20.

The two-day screening, originally set to start on Thursday, was postponed due to the extension of the Eid-el-Fitr holiday by the Federal Government.

The screening will commence shortly after the inauguration of two committees: a seven-member Ondo State Governorship Screening Committee and a five-man Screening Appeal Committee, both appointed by the National Working Committee of the APC at the national secretariat in Abuja.

According to PUNCH, the screening committee will be chaired by former Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Senator Joshua Lidani, while a former Member of the House of Representatives, Bimbo Daramola, has been selected as the Secretary of the committee.

Other members are Pastor Jones Erue, High Chief Second Bakor, Magaret Duru, Prof. Chukwudi Ledirick and Hon. Abdul Rahim Balogun.

The five-man Screening Appeal Committee will be chaired by the Senator representing Kogi Central, Oseni Yakubu.

Other members of the appeal committee are Emmanuel Ekeh, Pious Idele and Ibrahim Magaji Dosara.
