The Ondo State Government has vowed to always stand by the truth and maintain neutrality in the selection of Obas and installation Olus and Baales.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro made this statement while addressing the Iralepo in Council and the people of Isinkan, in his Office, in Akure.

While promising to resolve the issue which brought them amicably without talking sides, Takuro thanked the Iralepo in Council for choosing to toe the path of peace, rather than violence.

He added that the government has great faith in Obas in the State and the traditional institution as vehicle for promoting peace, harmony and unity among the people.

In his words, the mobilisation of people for positive development, can best be achieved through them, hence the government will not undermine any Oba in the State

Takuro thanked Ondo State Obas, for living up to expectation in helping to maintain peace and giving good advice to the government.

The Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Owagbemiga Ojo, led the Iralepo in Council and the people of Isinkan on a peaceful protest against the planned installation of Olus at Aponmu and Onipetesi by the Deji of Akure, HRM Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi.

Oba Oluwagbemiga Ojo said Aponmu and Onipetesi are communities under Isinkan and the Isinkan people will resist any expansionist tendency aimed at taking over their lands.

He appealed to the government to meditate as a matter of urgency, to prevent violence and breach of peace.
