We have more achievements to celebrate than our challenges-APC Chieftain

The Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Canada Chapter, Dr Abiola Oshodi, says that Nigeria has more achievements to celebrate than its challenges as the country continues its 25 years uninterrupted democracy.

Oshodi, in his Democracy Day message, said the county was moving ahead in its uninterrupted democratic life.

He stated that the country would continue to work on all the perceived challenges and also strengthen the democratic ethos to achieve a prosperous nation that could all be proud of.

Oshodi, a Nigerian-Canadian based psychiatrist consultant, celebrated the giant strides achieved as a people with shared origin and shared democratic values.

“The birth of our current democracy came through the sacrifice, commitment and dedication to our fatherland.

“It was celebrated with maximum anticipation of yielding good governance, rule of law and exercise of constitutional authority in the overall interest of our citizens.

“We have come a long way in trying to entrench full democratic system of governance in the country, after the series of unwanted and unwarranted military interregnum.

“Here we are today, we are moving ahead in our uninterrupted democratic life as the country continues to witness electoral processes in all parts of the country, though not perfect yet , but we continue to work towards perfection,” he stated.
