COVID-19: Akeredolu assures investors of support

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has assured private investors of support despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Akeredolu said his administration would do all it takes to ensure private investment are safe and secure in the state.

He spoke when he received 1000 hand sanitizers, 5000 nose masks and 3000 cartons of noodles from Olams Nigeria Limited.

The Ondo Governor said the fight against COVID-19 would be won with support from individuals and investors.

He assured that the items would be judiciously out to use and the palliatives get to the poor and vulnerable residents in the state.

Branch Manager of Olam, Arun Karthick, said the firm is supporting over 8000 cocoa farmers in the state.

Arun stated that the the firm donated the items to support the state government as it battle to curb spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are impacting their lives on a day to day basis. We are helping them improve yields of the cocoa crops. With that they will get improved income.

“We are making videos to educate them on ways to avoid COVID-19, We do radio jingles and through the community representatives we are reaching out to the farmers.

“COVID-19 is a global epidemic and causing a lot of havoc. It is time for companies to pick up their corporate social responsibility. We are giving back to the people where we have been working for the past 25 years.”
