The Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo( RUGIPO) has initiated a comprehensive TETFund-sponsored training programme for some members of staff of ICT Unit in the Institution.

The ICT training is on the deployment of the SCOLA Learning Management System (LMS) on the custom software package designed to enhance educational delivery and administrative efficiency.

The Acting Rector of RUGIPO, Mr O. S. Adegun, in his opening remarks on Wednesday , said that the training was to last for three days.

Adegun explained that the training would enable the participants to imbibe necessary skills for effective utilization of the new system.

“The new system (SCOLA LMS,) among other functions, is to streamline course management, facilitate online learning, e-transcript, e-clearance and to improve communication between students and educators.

“It will also upgrade RUGIPO’s digital infrastructure.

“The training sessions are structured to cover a range of activities on the software, including course creation, student enrolment, grading, and analytics,” he stated.

The rector affirmed the dictum that ” change is a constant phenomenon’ and remarked that “things are changing for good in the Institution .”

He also vouched that with the new positive developments in the institution, the evidence of desired transformation of the institution would be attained.

Adegun, therefore, enjoined staff members to grab the opportunities offered by the positive change.

“Participants are expected to complete the training with a thorough understanding of the new system and best practices for its application.

He encouraged the participants to leverage on the full potential of the system.

“The roll out of the SCOLA LMS is part of RUGIPO’s new initiative to integrate advanced technologies into its operations.

“The successful deployment of this system is anticipated to set a new standard for educational management in the institution,” he said.

The rector commended the Federal Government for the creation of TETFund on landmark interventions on all institutions across the country and especially for its impacts in the polytechnic.

The training programme was handled by a team of experts from TACTIX Limited and saddled with the provision of hands-on demonstrations and detailed instructions.
