Aiyedatiwa Hosts Ex-Football International, Victor Ikpeba Ahead of 6th Akogun Annual Football Competition
The final match of the 6th edition of the Akogun Annual Football Competition in Oka Akoko, Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of Ondo State is set to take place on August 2, 2024.
This 6th edition, which began on June 25, will climax today, Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Ojominrin High School Agba Oka Akoko playing field. Wongara FC of Ayegunle Oka will be competing against Rising Pius FC of Ebinrin Oka Akoko.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, while hosting former Super Eagles player Victor Ikpeba and former Director of Communication for the Nigeria Women League, Dapo Sotuminu, expressed his commitment to the development of sports in the state. He thanked Mr. Ikpeba for attending, particularly given the traffic challenges.
“This risk that you took underscores your love for sports. This will linger in our memories. By tomorrow, many youths in Ondo State will be inspired by your presence,” said the Governor.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Saka Yusuf Ogundele, Bamidele Ologun, Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency, and Olugbenga Omole, Special Adviser on Transportation, joined the Governor in welcoming his visitors.
