Ibadan agog as TVC’s Ayodeji Moradeyo’s Mother-in-law laid to rest

Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, stood still on Saturday, 3rd August, as the late Mrs Stella Olajumoke, the mother-in-law of the Ondo State correspondent of TVC News, Ayodeji Moradeyo, was buried amidst glowing tributes.

The deceased, who died at the age of 72, was the mother of Aderonke, the wife of the esteemed journalist.

It was indeed a celebration of a life well spent, as dignitaries from all walks of life converged at the Bread of Life Church, Adekile, for the burial service.

Members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Ondo State chapter, graced the event.

Solemn songs were rendered as a mark of honour for the departed woman, popularly known as “Mama Teacher” during her lifetime.

In his sermon, Pastor Abimbola described the deceased as a righteous woman who served God and humanity diligently.

He urged her children to continue the good works done by their mother, which he said were worthy of emulation.

Pastor Abimbola said the entire church would miss her because of her outstanding contributions.

Her body was later moved to her house in the Asolo area in Onaara Local Government, where her children and family members paid their last respects.

The dam of emotion was broken as they could not hold back their tears.

Her body was lowered into the grave, signalling her journey to the great beyond.

Thereafter, it was time to wine and dine.

Osho Event Centre, after Gbagi, the venue of the reception, was filled with dignitaries from all walks of life, including journalists from Ondo State.

Guests were treated to local and international dishes, with plenty to eat and drink.

The first son of the deceased, Dr Tokunbo Olajumoke, described their mother as a virtuous woman who served God diligently and wholeheartedly.

“My mother was a special woman who took good care of us. She gave us the best in terms of education. I will forever miss her,” he added.

Her only daughter, Aderonke, described her mother as a rare gem who gave her best in the service of God.

The last child of the family, Taiwo Olajumoke, said their mother was caring and loving.

The late Stella Funmilayo Olajumoke, who died at the age of 72, lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation.
