Aiyedatiwa commends Rep Adelegbe over distribution of N10m, 100,000 agric inputs to constituents
The governor of Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has lauded member representing Owo/Ose federal constituency, Hon Timehin Adelegbe, over the distribution of N10m and 100,000 agricultural inputs to farmers in the federal constituency.
The governor gave the commendation on Wednesday in Ifon, at a ceremony organized by the federal lawmaker, to distribute a total of N10m in cash to over 250 households and businesses, 100,000 cocoa seedlings and 2000 weed-spraying machines to farmers.
Represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the governor described Adelegbe as a goal-getter and passionate political leader, who puts smiles on the faces of the people at all times.
He said, “My brother, Hon. Adelegbe, is a dependable and compassionate politician, who is efficiently representing the people of Owo/Ose federal constituency in the national assembly. He understands the needs of his people and he is truly committed to their welfare”
Earlier, the governor laid the foundation for a block of six classrooms at Ekamarun Anglican Grammar School in Ifon, which is being sponsored by the federal lawmaker.
In his short speech at the school, Adelegbe promised that the new classroom block, that was gutted by fire sometimes ago, would be re-built in six months, saying his plan is to restore the legacy of the school.
He also said the distribution of N10m to the people was to cushion the effects of the present economic challenges on households and businesses while the agricultural inputs was to support food security agenda of the President and boost cocoa production in the state.
At the occasion, Adelegbe redeemed a pledge of N1m he made to the unit with the highest number of votes in the 2023 general elections, which was awarded to Olufa Ward 8, Unit 11 in Ikaro/Elegbeka.
Appreciating the kind gesture, the school principal of Ekamarun Anglican Grammar School, Idowu Adesuyi, thanked Hon. Adelegbe for deeming it fit to come to the aide of the school, which he described as “uncommon generosity”
In his opening remarks, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ose local government, Chief Ladi Tenabe, commended the federal lawmaker for paying attention to the critical needs of the people of his constituency.
Chief Tenabe also received a top grassroots mobilizer, popularly known as Iya Iyabo and her followers from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) into the APC.
The event attracted top APC leaders, royal fathers and party faithful from Owo/Ose federal constituency.
