Troops of Nigerian Army have yet again killed another 78 Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters while seven gun trucks that belonged to Boko Haram were destroyed.

As confirmed by both aerial and human intelligence of Nigerian Armed Forces, this latest victory was recorded between May 1 and May 2, 2020 around the Timbuktu Triangle general area by the offensive support group of Operation Kantana Jimlan.

In a similar trend of success, not less than 16 high profile informants of Boko Haram haven been caught in the dragnet of the troops of Nigeria Army within the last two weeks. The arrest of Boko Haram informants has significantly obstructed the terrorists’ information and supply chains and equally dislocated their communication channel.

Interestingly, in the expertly coordinated artillery bombardments that was conducted by the Nigerian Army Artillery Regiments troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, several Boko Haram and ISWAP targets across the entire war theatre were acquired and engaged with precision. The troops delivered accurate fire on the criminals that fled in disarray with life threatening gunshot wounds.

According to the Coordinator of Defence Media Operations,
Major General John Enenche, the ongoing offensive by Operation Lafiya Dole is being personally coordinated by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai in preparatory to the final routing of Boko Haram terrorists and ISWAP criminals from the Nigerian territory.

The intensified assaults on the terror criminals within the Timbuktu Triangle has so far left virtually all the terrorists and their leadership in panicky disarray. Moreso, the sustained monumental successes of Nigerian Army troops in recent time over the terror group of Boko Haram and ISWAP has set conditions for the commencement of final assault on the evil enclaves and hideouts of the insurgents.

Instructively, as the gallant troops continue to overwhelm the terrorists on all fronts, it is becoming clearer that the counter terrorism operations of Nigerian Armed Forces in the North East will come to an end anytime soon
