The wave of terror gripping the Akoko area of Ondo State continues unabated, with the latest tragedy occurring yesterday afternoon on the Arigidi-Okeagbe road near TB Joshua Land.
The victim, identified as Yakubu, was found in a pool of blood on the road, his throat gruesomely slit, and his motorcycle missing.
Reports indicate that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Okeagbe, alongside Civil Defence officer Tajudeen Mutiu and members of the Amotekun Corps, were seen transporting the body to the State Specialist Hospital morgue in Ikare Akoko.
This incident is the fourth killing in the area, heightening the fear among residents and travelers who now dread using the road.
In response to the growing violence, Akoko’s monarchs recently convened in Ogbagi Akoko to address the crisis, while the Akoko Security and Economic Development Council has called for urgent community-based security measures to combat the escalating threat.
