How mother, daughter, 2 others die in their sleep
Fear and apprehension have gripped the Amaeze Community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State following the tragic deaths of an unidentified woman, her daughter, and two others.
The incident, which occurred on September 1, 2024, has plunged the entire community into deep mourning. The exact cause of the deaths remains unknown at the time of this report.
It was learned that the four victims had shared a meal the previous night before going to bed, only to be found dead in their sleep.
Confirming the incident, the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Igwe Felix Ugwu, expressed that the community is still in shock over the tragedy.
The monarch revealed that one of the victims, identified as Mama Chijioke Amaeze, had brought her ailing mother into her home and had been caring for her before the mysterious incident claimed the lives of her mother, her sister, and her daughter.
He added that although officers from the Nsukka Police Division have taken the victims to the hospital for autopsy and investigation, the community has decided to seek spiritual guidance to uncover the cause of the incident.
“My community has been restless since this incident happened. We have not witnessed anything like this since the history of this community. We are making efforts to determine what could have led to this tragedy,” the royal father said.
