BREAKING: Edo Council Chairman’s life threatened as police barricade residence

As of midnight on September 21, 2024, the Executive Chairman of the Etsako East Local Government Council, Hon. (Princess) Benedicta Attoh, is under threat as four Siennas brimming with police officers broke into her Okpekpe home.

Although the youth of Ward 10 have organized to resist any effort to intimidate the acting Chairman of the Local Government Council, Benjamin Atu Chief Press Secretary of
Etsako East local Government Council, in a statement, pleaded with the Inspector General of Police to summon his officers “right now to avert a collapse of law and order.”

“To guarantee a calm election and to preserve lives rather than end them, Nigerian police were sent to Edo State. While APC leaders are free to go about, the Nigerian Police are now undermining their authority by besieging the homes of PDP leaders”, Benjamin Atu revealed in a press release.

According to the press release, the head of the Etsako East Council refrained from asking for security guards as the people in her neighbourhood had already erected a barrier around her.

Allnews.ng gathered that this public warning is intended to alert the police force to the possibility of an unwarranted arrest by the youths and to warn them that if law and order break out in the Okpekpe neighbourhood, the police would be held responsible.
