Hardship: Some of us can no longer afford diesel— Rotimi Amaechi

Former Minister of Transportation Chibuike Amaechi has voiced his frustration over the lack of public response to the ongoing economic difficulties facing Nigeria.

In an interview with Igbere TV, Amaechi expressed disappointment, particularly with the youth, whom he expected to take to the streets in protest against the rising cost of living.

Amaechi stated, “People should be outraged when they see a group misappropriating their resources without taking action. I am genuinely upset with the public’s inaction.”

He referenced the political climate in Edo State, questioning why politicians continue to campaign amid such hardships. “Some of us can no longer afford diesel due to its exorbitant price,” he added.

Amaechi, who held the position of Minister of Transportation for nearly eight years in the previous administration of Muhammadu Buhari, emphasized the urgency of the situation.
