Panic engulfed Elewuro, Ondo West Local Government Area, on Wednesday evening following the brutal murder of a 30-year-old man known as “Delo.”

His lifeless body was discovered in his room, igniting fear and confusion throughout the community.

Sources indicated that Delo was in his room at the time of the incident, although the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

Concerns arose when Delo’s brother knocked on his door repeatedly but received no response. Alarmed tenants opened a window, only to find him motionless on his bed.

The Fagun Police Division was notified, and upon arrival, officers forced the door open, revealing bruises on Delo’s face, neck, and other areas of his body. Delo’s brother was arrested after police discovered Delo’s phone in his possession prior to entering the room.

Efforts to interview the suspect were thwarted as police restricted access following the arrest.

Subsequently, officers transported Delo’s remains to the morgue.

The tragic news of Delo’s death has sent shockwaves through the community, with family and friends visibly distraught. Mourning groups gathered, sharing grief and discussing the disturbing incident.

A police source confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.

They stated that once alerted by tenants, personnel were dispatched to secure the scene, retrieve the corpse, and transfer the suspect to the State CID in Akure for further investigation.
