Ogun State police officers have detained Yemisi Ogunlana, a 28-year-old lady, on suspicion of severing her husband’s manhood following a fight.

AFRIPOST gathered that in the Oko-Oba neighbourhood of Ogijo, Yemisi reportedly cut 31-year-old Idowu Adebowale with a sharp object.

This was revealed by the command’s spokeswoman, Omolola Odutola, in a statement sent to journalists on Monday.

The statement claims that at around 5:15 p.m., the spouse reported the event to the command’s Ogijo Division.

The publicist stated that after being apprehended, the suspect refuted the charges during interrogation.

Odutola said, “He reported an attempted murder case on Monday at about 5:15 p.m.

“A 31-year-old man named Idowu Adebowale, from the Oko-Oba area of Ogijo, came to the police station and stated that on October 15 at 4:30 a.m., his wife, 28-year-old Ogunlana Yemisi, used a sharp object to severely injure his manhood during a minor disagreement.

“He showed the officers the injury, revealing a significant cut near the tip of his penis.

“But given the severity of the injury and the length of time the complainant had not sought medical help, he was provided with a medical form and advised to go to the hospital,” she said.

Odutola stated that the suspect is now in custody, and that the matter would be forwarded to the SCID in Abeokuta for additional investigation.

Meanwhile, she blamed the event on unrestrained rage, which escalated into domestic violence.
