Anambra State chapter of the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments has elected new executives to pilot its affairs for the next two years.

Chijioke Okechukwu, from the Raw Materials Research & Development Council and outgone Chairman of the association, disclosed this to journalists in Awka on Friday after their monthly meeting and bye-election.

He said, “I am very happy that today we have been able to elect new executives for our association.’’

Mr Okechukwu urged the members to accord the new executives same respect and cooperation accorded his leadership to enable them succeed.

He said that no federal ministry, departments and agencies in the state declined any of his requests to better the association during his tenure.

He stated, “We achieved these feats because of our dedication as executives and cooperation from members.’’

The outgone chairman expressed optimism in the ability of the new executives to take the association to greater heights.

Responding on behalf of the executives, the new chairman, Peniel Jack, who described his emergence as a miracle, assured members of their welfare.

According to him, the new leadership will bring their experiences to bear to make the association succeed.

Mr Jack from the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency promised that the new executives would carry members along to ensure success for the association.

Chizoba Irono from the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria emerged as the vice chairman.

Sunday Nwovu from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria and Genevieve Nwafor from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, Mega, would serve as secretary and assistant secretary respectively.

Other exco members include Chike Ufele of the National Directorate of Employment and Amaka Maduabuchi of Legal Aid Council.

Leo Eze of National Business and Technical Examinations Board, Chuks Ezenwa of Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation would continue as the financial secretary, treasurer, provost and public relations officer of the association respectively.

The new chairman would complete the remaining part of the tenure of the outgone chairman which is two years.

The outgone chairman has been transferred to Abuja, hence the by-election to fill the vacuum.
