As we step into this new month, MercySpeaks Initiatives encourages everyone to look ahead with purpose. November is not only a time for growth and reflection but also a call to action as we prepare for the upcoming Ondo State election. Let’s make this election season one of impact, responsibility, and change.
On October 29, 2024, I had the privilege of attending an impactful workshop with fellow Civil Society Organization (CSO) leaders and media partners, organized by Yiaga Africa. Since 2007, Yiaga Africa has been a trailblazer in advocating for democracy, governance, and development across Africa. Through research, advocacy, and capacity building, they have worked tirelessly to create democratic societies rooted in inclusion, justice, transparency, and accountability.
This workshop was yet another step in enhancing my capacity as the Executive Director of MercySpeaks Initiatives. Together with Yiaga Africa, I stand by their mandate to promote a better Nigeria. It begins with us—each one of us. We must stop the buying and selling of votes. Remember, your vote is your right; your vote is your voice.
Let me share this directly from my heart: As the leader of MercySpeaks Initiatives, I know that change only comes when we stand up and speak out through our choices. A better Nigeria starts with our decisions and our dedication. Let’s rise from our communities, from our cities, and make Ondo State’s election season a powerful testament to change. Religious leaders, community heads, parents, and youth, now is the time to lead by example. Let’s come together and build a stronger, united front that speaks to the values of accountability and public integrity.
