Adeyeri blasts Akeredolu’s family for reportedly endorsing SDP Candidate
A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Adeyeri Stephen, has berated the family of late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for reportedly endorsing the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Candidate ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
Adeyeri made this known while reacting to an online report that a group known as ASEI and the younger brother of the late Governor reportedly endorsed the SDP Candidate.
However, the APC chieftain described the endorsement as”inconsequential and frivolous,” stating that the Akeredolu’s family known to be members of the progressives family shouldnt be seen supporting another party.
He said the endorsement would not halt the victory of Aiyedatiwa, noting the residents have expressed their readiness to ink their thumb for the Governor.
“I find it amusing to hear claims circulating online that the family of our late Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, reportedly supported the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the upcoming gubernatorial election. When I first read the report online, I dismissed it as both frivolous and inconsequential to the outcome of the election.
“The Akeredolu family has long been known for their progressive values and strong ties to the All Progressives Congress (APC). It is therefore surprising that they would choose to endorse a candidate from another party. This decision, if true, is not only unexpected but also raises questions about the alignment of their support with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Ondo State.
“Let me be clear: this endorsement, if it exists, does not alter the commitment of the people of Ondo State to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The residents have made up their minds, and they are prepared to vote for continuity and progress. Governor Aiyedatiwa has proven his leadership, and the people are confident in his vision for a better Ondo State.
“As we approach the election, I urge everyone to remain focused on the task ahead. The endorsement from any family, no matter how prominent, cannot sway the will of the people. The mandate of the people will prevail, and I have no doubt that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa will emerge victorious in the gubernatorial election.
