Poll: Ondo State indigenes in diaspora support Aiyedatiwa’s bid

The indigenes of Ondo State in diaspora under the auspices of Ondo State Indigenes in Diaspora (OSID) have endorsed Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the Saturday governorship election.

In a statement by Prof. Salewa Olafioye, the Chairman of OSID, on Friday, said the endorsement was a testimony to the impressive track records of the governor.

Olafioye said that since Aiyedatiwa assumed office in the last ten months, he had made remarkable policies and programmes for betterment of the state.

OSID, comprising professionals and community members from Canada, Europe, Asia, and the United States, made the decision.

He explained that the association made its preference for the governor after thoroughly reviewing the candidate’s achievements and manifestos.

According to him, the group recognises Aiyedatiwa as the most qualified leader in efforts to continue moving the state forward.

“Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s achievements have been remarkable, with notable milestones including: approving a significant minimum wage increase to N73,000.

“ He has demonstrated his dedication to a prosperous and equitable Ondo State and advanced infrastructural projects to enhance the lives of Ondo State residents.

“ The governor is also Implementing healthcare improvements to ensure better health outcomes for citizens and fostering economic development and inclusive policies to promote growth and stability, the group said

“OSID urges all Ondo State citizens to participate peacefully in the democratic process and consider Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s record when choosing their next leader,” he said.

Olafioye, an ex-diplomat to the United Nations, stated that the organisation remained committed to supporting leaders who prioritise good governance, sustainable growth, and social equity.
He noted that Aiyedatiwa’s vision and work ethic made him the ideal candidate to continue building a brighter future for the state.

“With OSID’s endorsement, he is poised to continue his transformative work for the benefit of all Ondo State citizens.

“OSID is an organisation dedicated to empowering Ondo State professionals and community members worldwide to contribute to the state’s socio-economic and political development.

“These we do through advocacy, partnerships, and community initiatives, OSID supports projects that foster growth, education, and economic stability in Ondo State,” he said.
